2012 is here!

It has been a busy few months since I posted an update!
First, I am so excited to announce that Nira has found herself a wonderful home and is doing fabulous! Besides the retraining she required, we took her in and she was spayed on November 22. She healed up great and was totally ready once her new family contacted me! She joined them just before Christmas and has fit in perfectly. She has even has a cat as a best friend now!! I just love happy endings or should I say beginnings! :)

In November we also took in another sweet girl named JJ who was in pretty rough shape. Needless to say, she was very happy and excited about the new chance at a better life. She has blossomed both physically and socially in leaps and bounds! JJ also got spayed on November 22. She will NEVER be used to produce a litter of puppies and then discarded because that was all she was wanted for. She is such a great girl that just wants to be with whoever she has bonded with. She is now ready to find her future forever home and bless them the way she has blessed us! I am confident that won't take much time at all to find her that perfect home.

I have also put more time into developing our little rescue, beyond the actual rescuing aspect. I am getting to know other passion driven, like minded people who are working so hard to help as many dogs as they can. I'm learning a lot and am very grateful and excited for what the future holds. Not only for myself and my family but also for all of those dogs that will be given that much needed chance at a new life. I will be applying for a 501(3) rescue status very soon and will be getting the ASH Rescue established as a certified rescue. As most things, this will take time but I will still be rescuing and helping those I can until then.

We have been checking out a few properties and am confident that by mid-summer we will have what we're looking for. Then it will be time to break ground and really get this rescue going! It is incredible to hear the support that people, friends and strangers alike, have shown to us because of our decision to open the ASH Rescue. We truly are blessed and only hope that we can in turn bless both the Huskies we help and the families that we find for those Huskies!
I hope you have enjoyed this latest update, I need to go now, so much to do!!

Peace, Blessings, Laughter, Love & Light to all!
Sincerely,
Christy

An update on us ....

Well, things have been busy around here for all of us! Life is good! Meiko was returned and with some time and training, she has found a wonderful home with her older brother Kobie! They're very happy to be together and have so much fun running in the river on their daily walks!
We made the decision to get our Moko and Nikita fixed, so on August 26th, it was made official that we're not having anymore puppies. Our plan is to now move forward with starting our B&B Husky rescue. Lots of work ahead for us but we're ready for it!
We also were given bad news on Thanksgiving, our sweet Miaha, from our first litter, was hit by a car and did not make it. As Miaha and Echo had spent every moment together since birth, it was a very difficult time for Echo. She came here to spend some time with her parents and it seemed to help. She is doing much better now but you can tell she misses her sister. It was very sad news and we're doing all we can to help the whole family through their lose. I know you're watching over them still!
Nira is also back! We had tried seeing if she could live with her sister Nahla but that did not work out. So, we're having fun reminding Nira of the rules and we'll be looking for her new home soon!
Busy busy but we love it! Life would not be the same without our Huskies!

Peace, blessings, laughter, love & light to all!

My Amado Siberian Husky Rescue Dream ......

I am looking to acquire some land and open a rescue center for Huskies. I have always admired the breed and since owning a couple of Huskies, I have learned so much. I have been actively dog sledding for 2 seasons now and have enjoyed working with these amazing creatures! The original plan was to breed our own 2 Siberian Huskies and build our dog sled teams that way but I now see that there are so many Huskies that already need a new place to call home. Huskies are very beautiful dogs but they are also a working breed. They need exercise,  leadership, companionship, stimulation and consistency. Since seeing ad upon ad of people giving away or selling their Husky, usually for very cheap, I have seen that I could offer these dogs a life doing what they were born to do, run! I would like to provide a place for these unwanted Huskies to go. A place that understands them, knows what they need and give it to them. I am aware that not every single Husky wants to pull a sled, it would be a matter of trying them out on the sled and seeing if they do take to it. If they do, they would be kept on as a permanent resident as part of my dog sled teams. If the Husky is not interested in pulling a sled, they would be put up for adoption. If any of these dogs need any basic training, I would ensure that that was done before adopting them out. An application form would have to be filled out and knowledge of the breed would be a must. I feel that too many people are not fully educated about the breed and this leads to unhappy and unruly Huskies looking for new homes. I have also planned to open a Bed & Breakfast on the property. This would benefit us all. People would be able to come out and stay on the property and learn about Huskies and or dog sledding. People could come and spend a day or two and pick out a Husky to adopt. I have seen many different personalities in the Husky breed and feel that it is important to pair the right dog with the right family. This B & B would help cover the costs of the vet, care, food and up keep of our kennel. The money made from dog sled tours would also help cover these expenses.

I believe that I can offer a great service to both the Husky breed and to people who are looking to adopt a Husky. I have a deep love and passion for Huskies and would truly love to see this dream of mine become a reality!

I would love to hear from you and what you think of my plans. Feed-back would be great!
May you always walk in Peace, Blessings Love & Light!

It`s been a while since my last post.....

Hey everyone! It is incredible how time can slip by so fast when you focused on many things. We have had a few ideas on the go lately and one of them concerns our beloved Huskies. We have made the decision to get both Nikita & Moko fixed. It is undeniable that they produce amazingly healthy beautiful puppies but we believe that 3 litters is plenty for our Nikita and it is time for her to just enjoy the pleasures of being a dog without those responsibilities. I have written up a letter that explains all and I hope to one day, with the help of some government grants make this dream of mine a reality!

Decimus is back!!

We have just recently gotten our beautiful Decimus back! For his health and happiness, I was contacted to bring him back. My husband and I would love to keep him for always but since we're not on our acreage yet, it is not a possibility. Although, the last time we talked about those plans, it is a real possibility that we'll be looking this fall for our acreage! Unless..... we win the lottery first! Well, we're not there yet so sweet Decimus will be looking for his new home soon. I am going to be working with him for the next week or so to get to know him and his personality so I can find the perfect home that will suit him so he can live his days out happy and healthy! It has already been interesting with both him and Moko being intact and the "I'm the stud around here!!"  attitudes they both have, nothing to worry about though, cause I'm the boss here! I'm looking forward to spending this time with Decimus and getting to know him. It is hard to believe that our first litter of puppies really aren't puppies anymore, time sure does go by fast sometimes. If any of you know anyone who is looking for a Husky and might be the home the Decimus needs, contact me and we'll see! Well, I'm going to go now.
Peace, Blessings, Love & Light to you all!

Things have now settled down ......

I'm happy to say that our last puppy moved on to her forever home last night. It will take me a bit to completely clean everything but soon my home will be back into the rhythm it had before puppies. It has been another amazing adventure with having puppies and also finding them their new forever families! I wish them all luck and many incredible memories with their precious puppy! I am also enjoying the quietness that has taken over my home, hehe, a different pace then the last few months but embraced non the less! Hope all is well with everyone and I look forward to getting back out onto that dog sled and mushing again! It has been awhile and I can't wait!
Peace, Blessings, Love & Light

Almost Time For Puppies To Go!

As we start off the month of February, I can't help but think of everything that has happened in the last few months. We had the joy and pleasure of watching another healthy litter of puppies join our family, then grow into incredible, beautiful, smart and sometimes very very noisy puppies just bursting with their own identities, and now they're almost ready to move onto their own new families. I am very excited and confident that each of these precious puppies bursting with life and personality will bring much joy and excitement into each of the homes they enter, be it their own new home or just visiting a friend to make new friends! I am both excited but yet I'm still a little sad to see them go, I have grown quite fond of each of them and their personalities and smart, not always quiet, antics. What gives me the most peace of mind seeing them off to their new homes is that I know that I have done the best I can to give them the greatest possible start to life and then I have made sure that the people they're to spend the rest of their lives with is committed to doing the same!! For now, I will get as much snuggle and puppy kisses as I can until the time comes to say our goodbyes!
Peace, Blessings, Love & Light,
